Recently, Sami Zayn expressed his unvarnished opinions about Roman Reigns, the undisputed universal champion, adding that the latter’s “poise has pleased him.” As members of The Bloodline on WWE SmackDown, Reigns and Zayn have a close relationship that contributes to some of the show’s most exciting moments. At Survivor Series 2022: WarGames, the latter even demonstrated his allegiance to Bloodline by brutally beating up his erstwhile best buddy, Kevin Owens, without expressing regret.
Sami Zayn spoke candidly about working with Roman Reigns during his appearance on the Cheap Heat podcast. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion admitted that despite knowing Reigns for a long time, it wasn’t until he joined The Bloodline that he had the opportunity to collaborate closely with him. “Getting to work with him, I learned a little bit more about his process at work. I’ve known him as a guy for many years and it’s always been very amicable, but it’s the first time I get to really work with him, especially now when he’s elevated his game to a whole other stratosphere,” – by Zayn.
Zayn mentioned that he was impressed by The Tribal Chief’s “poise” and stated that it wasn’t something that could be learned. He claimed that the on-screen work of the Universal Champion showed his many years of industry experience. The Honorary Uce also talked about how he became a member of The Bloodline in other parts of the interview. “One of the things that has impressed me the most is his poise. There’s kind of no way to learn that but to go through it and get it, kind of like wisdom. The only way to be wise is to live and learn. He’s lived and learned in this business. It’s reflected in some of those on-screen interactions,” he said.
When Reigns and Zayn first started conversing, things just naturally flowed, and Reigns was eventually added to the stable, according to Zayn. Sami Zayn also recalled that Roman Reigns had expressed a desire to collaborate with him in a previous interview, which was made public. Although Zayn’s relationship with Reigns and the other members of The Bloodline appears stronger than ever, it is unclear how long these connections will last. “We were sitting at catering one day, and I heard an interview that he did with Ariel Helwani where he was very kind towards me and saying nice things about me as an on screen character and that he’d like to do something down the road with me one day. We got to talking and I don’t remember exactly how it went, but it was a mutual thing,” – by Zayn.
