The most awaited Indian Premier League 2022 is just a few months away from commencing. This fifteenth edition will be new and different from other seasons due to the addition of new teams in the league.
The last IPL was full of chaos and ruckus with additional problems arising every now and then. Due to the rapid increase of Covid-19 cases in India, the game was abruptly cancelled midway.
As most of us know, the second wave created havoc in India which forced the cricketers to abide by the bio bubble rules. None would have expected this tragic moment in cricketing history.
However, to keep the game going, the BCCI came up with a plan to restart the tournament and was in search of a new place. With lots of restrictions, the second phase took place in the UAE from September 2021. The winners of IPL 2021 were the men in yellow. The Chennai Super Kings were consistent throughout this tournament and played first class cricket in both phases despite the place changes. They are a well deserved team to win their fourth IPL trophy at UAE.
This tournament 2021 wasn’t lucky for most of the teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, and Punjab Kings. These teams struggled to find a spot in the top 4 of the points table during the second leg.
Punjab Kings Likely to Release Every Team Member Before Auction
Punjab Kings were going through a rough period since the inception of the Indian Premier League. Till date, in the history of IPL, the Punjab Kings haven’t won the trophy once. During the 14th edition of IPL, they faced difficulty and were disappointed.
Few reports reveal that the Punjab Kings are planning to not retain any player with regards to the mega auction. This news was quite shocking to everyone as the team possessed few brilliant cricketers like KL Rahul and Nicholas Poora. In the bowling list, Chris Jordan and Arshdeep Singh were a good fit to the team. However, the franchise must come up with a plan incase if they are releasing all players from the team.
