For those hoping to see Kevin Steen arrive at the AEW sometime in the new year at Package Piledrive everyone, it looks like a Universal Champion champion who with will be WWE for the next few years.

As a Fightful choice, Kevin Owens re-signed with WWE after the company made him a “very good gift”. WWE is said to be delighted with KO’s decision to stay with Vince McMahon’s sports entertainment juggernaut, as Canadian player’s previous contract is set to expire at the end of January 2022.

It is unknown at this time what is the number of years he has signed the contract for.

Fightful added how their AEW sources told them it would be of great interest to Owens if he chose to leave WWE. Similarly, these same sources have shown that the AEW would not be able to match what WWE has to offer to the former ROH world champion.

The 37-year-old Prizefighter signed with WWE in August 2014, making a quick impact by opening Sami Zayn on NXT TakeOver. Owens will soon oust Zayn to become the NXT champion, who will also make his top list bow down the following May.

Next to KO, Seth Rollins, and Bobby Lashley received a shot at the Big E’s WWE Title in a dangerous four-way fight at WWE Day 1 PPV on New Year’s Day.
