Indian Women’s Cricket Team to Play Day-Night Test Match in Australia

The craze for day-night test format has always been high over the years. This format has added a new flavor to the game of cricket. The Indian men’s cricket team has already tasted the fruit of victory in this format. However, the women’s cricket team was eagerly waiting for a chance to play their first-ever game in this format. Well, it’s time for them to explore Australia before this year ends. This information was officially confirmed recently by the Board of Control for Cricket.

Since 2014, women cricketers have not played in any of the Test matches. It was shocking to see the international team with such talented players not being included in the longest format of cricket. Till date, women cricketers have played only 36 Test matches totally. Apart from that, they have been featured in other format games in recent times.

Latest Update about the Indian Women Cricketer

Lately, the BCCI confirmed that Indian women would be playing Test cricket. It’s been more than six years since women have played in Test cricket. Luckily, they will be doing it this year. To everyone’s surprise it will be their first day-night series.

The BCCI secretary, Jay Shah recently made this information official in their Twitter handle. He exclaimed that the women cricketers are not forgotten in our nation. He added that these women cricketers will also be rendering their effort for the betterment and development of the Indian cricket team for women.

With this incredible opportunity, the women cricketers would be enthusiastic to explore their talents. This decision from the BCCI has made history as Test cricket is considered as a holy grail in India.

The tweet by Jay Shah read, “Taking forward our commitment towards women’s cricket, I am extremely pleased to announce that Team India @BCCIwomen will play their first-ever pink ball day-night Test later this year in Australia.”
