WWE Smackdown kicked off with The Bloodline opening program. The Roman rule seems to be running WWE and New York.
However, Brock Lesnar was going to interrupt and get a big pop at Madison Square Garden. He then went on to tell Paul Heyman to accept his challenge instead of Reigns.
“I asked you a question Paul: Why didn’t you tell Roman that I was going to be at SummerSlam?” Said Lesnar.
Heyman begs Roman not knowing, but Roman and Usos turn their backs and leave.
After that Heyman is back to hyping Lesnar! However, when things went awry, Lesnar vented his anger on his former lawyer and almost hit F5 before Usos arrived to save the day.
It is clear that Lesnar is a babyface in this controversy and it looks like Lesnar-Heyman’s relationship is being formalized.
All in all, it was a great part and a great sign of writing with Heyman, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and The Usos.
Later that night, Reigns will disrupt the Smackdown Tag Team Championship match between Usos and Street Profits, using a guillotine on Montez Ford as the referee looks for the bell. Angrily, Reigns took the microphone and accepted Lesnar’s challenge from the beginning of the night, only when the stage was dark and “The Demon” Finn Balor arrived. The face-painted alter-ego of the top competition is facing Reigns as the show is out of the air.
