In a fashionable way, the Indian team won the series by 157 runs. With this special win, the visitors are leading the series for 2-1. The last and fifth day of the Test match will take place at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester on September 10th (Friday). There was bad news coming up for the Indian team.
If the reports are true about Shastri and Virat attending a public event last week, sources say that had triggered a fight in the dressing room.
On knowing the matter, the BCCI officials stumbled and lashed out at them for the same. On Sunday, Ravi Shastri was tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Indian team’s fielding and bowling coach, R Sridhar and Bharat Arun were tested positive on Monday. “The BCCI is learned to be peeved with Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli for attending public events in London last week,” was stated by the TOI.
In the meantime, images of Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and coach Shastri were leaked attending a public event in London. Reports say that it was a book launch and it has become viral on social media. These images were also submitted by the BCCI.
The Times of India report stated that the BCCI was furious with Shastri and Kohli. “The board will probe the matter. This incident has left the board embarrassed. The coach and the captain will be asked to explain the circumstances after the fourth Test at the Oval. The team’s administrative manager, Girish Dongre’s role is also under the scanner”, one of the close sources revealed to Times of India.
“The BCCI is in touch with the ECB and trying to ensure the series is completed without any further incidents. As of now, everyone is hoping that Shastri recovers soon. There is a selection meeting for the T20 World cup on Wednesday. Maybe the matter will be raised there,” the BCCI official added.
Kohli and Shastri’s careless behavior would have harmed many from the Team who were involved in the Test series. This could have even closed the series also.
Reports of the coronavirus test for Shastri haven’t been confirmed yet. Many suspects that he might have got in contact from the hotel’s lift which was used by many at the institution.
