BCB Tweets a Weird Wish for Late Manzarul Islam – Ravi Ashwin Reacts

Lately, the Bangladesh cricket board has been engaging to make their official Twitter handle quite active with the latest news and activities of Bangladesh cricketers. In the recent Test match against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh lost the second game by a huge margin of 209 runs.

Amidst these, the BCB team decided to wish the late Manzarul Islam Rana for his 37th birthday on May 4th (Tuesday). In the year 2003, Rana played his debut match as a 19 year old.

Manzarul came to limelight when he defeated the England captain Michael Vaughan in his third ball. This was the first time for a Bangladesh player to take a wicket in his first International over.

However, the young lad made it to Test cricket in the following year and played his debut match against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, Harare. Unfortunately, the all-rounder died in March 2007 due to a road accident at the age of 22.

In remembrance of the late cricketer, the BCB decided to post a birthday wish from their official Twitter account. They posted a bizarre post which was quite unexpected.

‘Happy Birthday to Manjural Islam Rana, youngest Test Cricketer to die at the age of 22 years and 316 days,’ BCB posted on Twitter. The tweet spread like wildfire in no time.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s Epic Reaction to BCB Tweet

The Indian bowler, Ravichandran Ashwin is an active person in the social media platforms. He has his own YouTube channel to interact with his fans quite often. In the meantime, the BCB’s tweet caught the eyes of the cricketer.

A strange tweet was posted by BCB which was not liked by many. Ashwin had reacted with an emoji because it was an unexpected one. It was a shock to see the BCB deleting the previous post and tweeted a new one. ‘Happy Birthday to Manjural Islam Rana. One of the Greatest Tiger we ever had. #BCB #HDBManjuralIslamRana,’ BCB tweet read.
