3. Roman Reigns never intended to be a WWE Superstar.
Roman Reigns comes from a prominent wrestling family, which has been well-documented throughout his WWE career. The Rock, Nia Jax, Rikishi, The Usos, and The Wild Samoans are all members of the Anoa’i family, which is one of the most well-known in the wrestling world.
Even while Roman Reigns has been aware of his father’s heritage since he was a child, the current Universal Champion wasn’t ready to follow in his footsteps.
Reigns, like many other current and former WWE superstars, wanted to be a football player. Reigns was a member of multiple collegiate teams before going undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft. In May 2007, the star signed with the Minnesota Vikings, but his first diagnosis of leukaemia forced him to be released.
Reigns tried to stay in the NFL the next year before retiring from the sport in 2008. When his football career came to an end, Reigns shifted his focus to his family’s sport, eventually signing with WWE.
