2. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (2016)
RCB and SRH locked horns in the final match of 2016 season to decide that year’s trophy holder. Since both the teams have never lifted the trophy even once then, the game was very much anticipated among fans. SRH won the toss and chose to bat first. David Warner pulled out an amazing game and scored 63 runs off 38 balls. After 16 overs, they were at a total of 147 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
But, more was expected out of SRH Batsmen as RCB’s batsmen were in pretty good form that year. Little did everyone know that Ben Cutting would come in and seize the day then! He scored an astonishing 39 runs off 15 balls and drove the total to a humongous 208 run mark. RCB still had hopes with some powerful names such as Virat, Gayle, ABD and Watson on their side. After 10.2 overs, RCB was at a good spot of 114/0. When Chris Gayle got out after that, the next 4 batsmen who came in surrendered in the next six overs without scoring any notable runs. Finally, RCB succumbed to SRH by 8 runs.
